About Fiachra

Born 12/05/1999 In Dublin, Ireland

The journey

As a young boy I would draw and catalog how to draw everything, from sketching on receipts at restaurants to spending more time watching the new exhibit being built in the zoo than the animals seen before.

Drawing and fixing became my love as a teenager, asking for power tools as Christmas and birthday presents to help with DIY and crafts in the house and  for creative means.

From an early inspiration during his leaving certificate and obsession's with solidworks for his DCG project. Fiachra decided to move into Product Design and chose Technological University Dublin (formerly DIT) due to its emphasis on delivering a well rounded and practical approach to business, engineering and design, through out the various college campuses.

Over the years his interest grew in ergonomics and assistive technology, leading to creating multiple projects aimed at improving hand dexterity and ease of functionality in simple tasks. These designs were inspiring as they allowed for everything to either be universal or custom fit, by fundamentally making an impact on the most amount of people possible.
Now as a graduate he hopes to bring his skills with the desire to improve the lives of those having struggled with disability through simple physical problem solving.
